Film development
Concept, script, and the team that makes it real — assembled together with a production company, from the first question to a production-ready package.
Discuss a project01
Concept & question
The idea and the dramatic question that will hold the film together. If the question is weak, the project collapses.
02
Research & treatment
Research, structure, and a treatment that expresses the idea in its own form rather than a familiar genre shape.
03
Script development
Draft development with attention to structure, tension, and the relationship between the visible story and its underlying system.
04
Visual & creative direction
Visual references, tonal rules, and the creative principles that align a director, a DoP, and a production designer.
05
Team assembly
Assembling the director, director of photography, cast, and locations around a shared creative and production plan.
06
Production partnership
We work with a production company to align financing, crew, schedule, and production realities with the creative intent.
07
Production-ready package
The materials needed to move from development into production: treatment, script, visual references, team shortlist, and plan.
How the
work moves
- 01
Question
We define the film's central tension and the reason it must be a film rather than another format.
- 02
Research
We build the research and the structural model: what the film knows, what it withholds, and how meaning is carried.
- 03
Script
We develop the script through drafts, with the structure and the idea held together.
- 04
Package
We assemble the creative team and the production partnership, and prepare the package that takes the project into production.

Development is where a film is won
A film rarely fails in production. It fails earlier — in a concept that cannot carry a feature, a script that does not know what it is about, or a team assembled without a shared idea of the film.
We work in that earlier stage, where the decisions are cheap and the consequences are total. The outcome is not a pitch document. It is a film that has been thought through: its question, its structure, its visual language, and the people who can make it.
Working with a production company
Development does not happen in isolation. We assemble the creative team — director, director of photography, cast, and locations — alongside a production company, so that the creative and the production plan are built together rather than negotiated afterwards.
The result is a package that a producer, a funder, or an institution can evaluate with confidence: what the film is, how it will be made, and who will make it.
Proof
Exodus 1903 is a feature film project developed by the studio: a historical narrative exploring memory, inherited trauma, and the 1903 Kishinev pogrom through a contemporary structure.
